  为何亚洲、中东机场发展较快?

  河南商报:

  有人说,在经济不是最发达的亚洲、中东地区,都有航空城发展很好的例子,比如中国香港、新加坡、迪拜。您认为亚洲、中东这些发展中地区航空城的发展情况怎么样?

  约翰·卡萨达:

  与西方相比,亚洲和中东地区的机场更先进,机场发展的速度也比西方快。不仅因为东方的居民收入、市场规模增长比较快,也因为他们对机场建设有不同的理念。

  在全球网络化、经济快速增长的大环境下,亚洲、中东地区的很多国家将机场视为一种重要的竞争方式,但西方大多数国家却将机场视为需要被控制的环境问题与有毒威胁。

  Henan Business Daily:

  Some people said that the most developed examples of aerotropolis were to be found in the developing Asia and the Middle East, such as Hong Kong、 Singapore and Dubai. How do you think the development of airports in these developing areas?

  Dr. John Kasarda:

  Asia and the Middle East have better airports and they are growing faster than the West not only because incomes and markets are growing faster in the East but also because they have a different philosophy about their airports.

  Most countries in Asia and the Middle East view their airports as key infrastructure to compete in a globally-networked,speed –driven economy whereas in most countries in the West airports are viewed more as environmental nuisances and toxic threats to be controlled.
